PHP Program
At Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery (CMAR), we provide a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) designed for individuals seeking a structured and supportive environment to overcome addiction.
Our PHP offers an intensive level of care, ideal for those transitioning from detox or residential rehab or for those needing more support than a standard outpatient program. Located in Denver, Colorado, our PHP helps individuals build a strong foundation for long-term recovery while maintaining some flexibility in their daily lives.
What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A PHP is a step between inpatient rehab and outpatient treatment, offering comprehensive addiction care without requiring overnight stays. This program is best suited for individuals who need intensive therapy and medical support but are stable enough to live at home or in a sober living environment.
At CMAR, our PHP runs five days a week for up to six hours per day, providing structured programming that includes evidence-based therapies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic support.
Key Features of PHP in Colorado
- Individualized Treatment Plans: Every client receives a customized care plan tailored to their specific needs, including substance use history, co-occurring disorders, and personal goals.
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): We incorporate FDA-approved medications such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, and Sublocade to help manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings, improving the chances of sustained recovery.
- Daily Group Therapy Sessions: Our PHP includes structured group therapy, which fosters peer support and skill-building through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention techniques.
- Weekly Individual Therapy: Clients receive one-on-one counseling with experienced addiction therapists to work through personal challenges and trauma.
- Mental Health Support: Our dual diagnosis approach addresses underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, which often contribute to substance use disorders.
- Case Management & Life Skills Development: We provide case management services, relapse prevention planning, and life skills training to prepare individuals for long-term success after treatment.
- Family Support & Education: Addiction affects families, and we offer family therapy and education to help loved ones understand addiction and support recovery.
- Flexible Recovery in Denver: Our program allows individuals to receive intensive treatment while living at home or in sober living, helping them transition smoothly into daily life.

Who is PHP Best For?
Our Partial Hospitalization Program is ideal for individuals who:
- Have completed detox or inpatient rehab and need continued structure and support.
- Require medical and psychological care but do not need 24/7 supervision.
- Need a higher level of care than traditional outpatient programs.
- Are struggling with opioid, alcohol, stimulant, or other substance addictions and need an integrated approach to recovery.
PHP vs. Inpatient Rehab vs. Outpatient Treatment

Partial Hospitalization (PHP) | 5-6 Hours Per Day | 2-4 Weeks | Transitioning from detox or inpatient; requiring intensive therapy |
Intensive Outpatient (IOP) | 3-5 Days Per Week | 8-12 Weeks | Managing addiction while working or attending school |
Nothing would stand in my way of a drink. My actions revolved around minimizing consequences to decisions that would reap the best benefit of this disorder. This disease manipulates you and as a result, you manipulate everyone around you just to fulfill a falsely created ritual.
After spending another round in rehab, I started an intensive outpatient program at CMAR. I recently graduated and started in their regular outpatient program. I get to see a certified counselor every week in addition to fixed flexible courses. This place saved my life. I don’t take that lightly and I’m not exercising my freedom of speech just to say it. I mean it, CMAR’s professional staff and programs saved my life.
I just hit the 7 month mark of my sobriety. I’m happy, in every sense of the word, in a way that I haven’t been in many years. For anyone out there struggling, please recognize, I know exactly what you’re going through. I’m not unique in any way. I just decided that my life is worth living without substances.
I believe that taking your first step to accepting this truth is going to be the hardest. Please consider allowing CMAR to help you ground this decision. It’s the most important choice you’ll ever make. The road to recovery is not an easy one. The greatest part of all the difficulty is that we’re not alone. CMAR develops serious relationships with others through intense attributable work.
Since this is working for me, I have no doubt in my heart that it will work for you. Please take action because it’s already too late. For a lot of people, they never got to this realization. I hope to see you soon in one of the classes.
Peace and grace be with you,
Jeremiah White
