IOP Program
At Colorado Medication-Assisted Recovery (CMAR), our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a structured yet flexible approach to addiction treatment.
Located in Denver, Colorado, our IOP is ideal for individuals seeking comprehensive care while maintaining work, school, or family responsibilities. Our evidence-based treatment methods help individuals overcome substance use disorders with personalized support.
What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
An IOP is a step down from inpatient rehab or a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and offers a balance between structured therapy and daily life responsibilities. This program allows individuals to receive intensive addiction treatment while still living at home or in a sober living environment.
CMAR’s IOP includes three to five days of treatment per week, with three-hour therapy sessions per day, focusing on skill-building, relapse prevention, and mental health support.
Key Features of Our IOP in Colorado
- Personalized Treatment Plans: Each client receives a customized care plan to address their specific addiction and mental health needs.
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): We offer FDA-approved medications such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, and Sublocade to reduce cravings and prevent relapse.
- Group Therapy Sessions: Our IOP includes structured group therapy, offering peer support and skill-building through evidence-based approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
- One-on-One Counseling : Clients receive weekly individual therapy sessions to explore personal struggles and create strategies for lasting recovery.
- Mental Health & Dual Diagnosis Treatment: Many individuals face co-occurring mental health disorders, and our program integrates addiction and mental health care for comprehensive recovery.
- Case Management & Life Skills Coaching: We provide relapse prevention planning, job readiness, and life skills training to help individuals build a sustainable future.
- Family Involvement & Support: Families play a crucial role in recovery, and we offer family therapy and education to strengthen relationships and communication.
- Flexible Treatment in Denver: Our morning and evening IOP sessions allow clients to maintain their daily routines while receiving high-quality care.

Your healing journey and new life starts now
Nothing would stand in my way of a drink. My actions revolved around minimizing consequences to decisions that would reap the best benefit of this disorder. This disease manipulates you and as a result, you manipulate everyone around you just to fulfill a falsely created ritual.
After spending another round in rehab, I started an intensive outpatient program at CMAR. I recently graduated and started in their regular outpatient program. I get to see a certified counselor every week in addition to fixed flexible courses. This place saved my life. I don’t take that lightly and I’m not exercising my freedom of speech just to say it. I mean it, CMAR’s professional staff and programs saved my life.
I just hit the 7 month mark of my sobriety. I’m happy, in every sense of the word, in a way that I haven’t been in many years. For anyone out there struggling, please recognize, I know exactly what you’re going through. I’m not unique in any way. I just decided that my life is worth living without substances.
I believe that taking your first step to accepting this truth is going to be the hardest. Please consider allowing CMAR to help you ground this decision. It’s the most important choice you’ll ever make. The road to recovery is not an easy one. The greatest part of all the difficulty is that we’re not alone. CMAR develops serious relationships with others through intense attributable work.
Since this is working for me, I have no doubt in my heart that it will work for you. Please take action because it’s already too late. For a lot of people, they never got to this realization. I hope to see you soon in one of the classes.
Peace and grace be with you,
Jeremiah White
